56th Orientation Seminar-Workshop for Newly Appointed Judges

The number of members of the bench has further increased after forty-six (46) newly appointed and promoted judges successfully completed the nine-day orientation program conducted by the Philippine Judicial Academy on December 1-10, 2009, at A. Venue Hotel Suites, Antel Lifestyle City, Makati City.

This orientation seminar-workshop was aimed to prepare the judges-participants for their assumption of office and the discharge of their duties. They were led to examine their value hierarchies and clarify their value systems, in order to resolve personal conflicts on values. They were introduced to the skills of adjudication, such as writing logically coherent, legally sound, and persuasive decisions.

Procedural and substantive laws, including latest jurisprudence, were discussed by renowned speakers such as Justice Lucas P. Bersamin, Court Administrator Jose P. Perez, Justice Delilah V. Magtolis and Justice Jose Reyes, Jr., among others.

The participants were all eager to assume their posts and excited to bang their gavels the moment they received their certificates of completion from the Academy.
