Posted on August 17, 2012

On June 5-6, 2012, the Philippine Judicial Academy conducted the fourth, and last, ASEAN Awareness Course Program for Judges. A total of 28 participants, consisting of selected single sala court judges from Regions 1 to 4, attended the activity. Some of the judges-participants were selected from the list of judges with pending trafficking in persons (TIP) cases before their courts.

The lectures entitled Introduction to TIP, Applicable Legal Framework, and National Legal Framework covered case studies which were discussed in groups, enabling the participants to share their insights and apply their learnings on the said topics. Open forums capped some of the lectures and allowed participants to be clarified on specific questions.
