Multi-Sectoral Seminar on Dangerous Drugs Law for Judges, Prosecutors and Law Enforcers of Regions I, II and III
The Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA), in partnership with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) conducted a Multi-Sectoral Seminar on Dangerous Drugs Law for Judges, Prosecutors and Law Enforcers of Regions I, II and III on March 2-4, 2010, at Oxford Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga. Atty. Antonio Villar, Jr., the new Chairman of DDB, gladly welcomed the participants in this program.
The three-day seminar aimed to coordinate and integrate the overall efforts of the Criminal Justice System especially in the field of prosecution and criminal investigation pertaining to drug-related cases.
The distinguished lecturers in this program were Justice Mario Lopez of the Court of Appeals, Deputy Court Administrator Nimfa Vilches, DOJ Usec. Linda Hornilla, Assistant Secretary Ma. Belen V. Matibag, and Dr. Idabel Pagulay of NBI, among others. They had a clear-cut discussion on R.A. 9165 otherwise known as Dangerous Drugs Act and its guidelines. RA 9344 in relation to Section 66 of RA 9165, Salient Features of the Rule on Children charged under RA 9165, and other issues on the legalities and requisites of a valid warrant of arrest, search and seizure were also taken up.
