Personal Security Training for Judges

Taking into account the safety and security of our honorable judges, a Personal Security Training for Judges was conducted by the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA), Office of the Court Administrator (OCA), and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on December 8-10, 2009, at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.

Thirty-two (32) members of the bench coming from as far as Zamboanga del Sur, Pangasinan, Batangas, Basilan and other distant regions were primed on the fundamentals on the use of firearms and given practical exercises on marksmanship and proficiency training. They were oriented on the basics of physical, document and communication security procedures as an added means to detect and deter potential threats as well as in crime prevention; and trained to guard and protect themselves from serious assault and violence. They were also informed on threat awareness and personal security measures, personality disorder, and casing and surveillance.

The training was held at the NBI Firing Range.
