Posted by ISD-RPLO on November 26, 2020

Meanwhile, to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the scheduled trainings and activities of the Philippine Mediation Center Office (PMCO), the PMCO Executive Committee approved the conduct of online mediation trainings: the pilot testing of online mediation in the Court of Appeals, which was welcomed and approved by Court of Appeals Acting Presiding Justice Remedios Salazar-Fernando in a meeting on June 10, and the conduct of Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR) proceedings through videoconferencing hearing, which was referred to the Office of the Court Administrator for the issuance of the appropriate directive to guide the members of the Bench and the Bar.

Further, PMCO submitted to the America Bar Association–Rule of Law Initiative (ABA-ROLI) the terms of reference for the production of the mediation video. To be used by Court-Annexed Mediation (CAM) lecturers and facilitators in their online sessions with mediators, the video entitled “Away sa Mana” is based on the script written by Atty. Rita Linda V. Jimeno.
