Posted by ISD-RPLO on November 26, 2020

Resolute in its commitment to provide continuing judicial education to justices, judges, court personnel, lawyers and aspirants to judicial posts, the Philippine Judicial Academy rose to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic in no time.

PHILJA Chancellor Justice Adolfo S. Azcuna issued on May 27 Inter-Office Memo No. 421 detailing the Academy’s Operating Procedure pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 04-2020 issued by Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta providing the Supreme Court Workplace Protocol.

The issuance, considering the safety and well-being of its staff, lecturers and other stakeholders during the partial and full operation of the Academy amidst the pandemic, provided that meetings will be held online or through videoconferencing via different available and approved platforms, except those that may be called or authorized by the Chief Justice of the Judiciary Task Force on COVID-19 observing the required safety protocols, and the Academy’s Training Programs and Activities shall be held, as much as possible, through distance learning.

Hence, PHILJA’s first online training program, the Orientation Seminar-Workshop for Newly Appointed Judges (Part 1) via Blended Learning, was conducted on June 22 to July 3, 2020.
