JUSTICE MARIANO C. DEL CASTILLO

Justice Mariano C. del Castillo was appointed as the 164th Justice of the Supreme Court where he served for ten years - from his appointment on July 29, 2009 until his retirement on July 29, 2019.

Justice Del Castillo obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1976 from the Ateneo De Manila University School of Law. His career in the judiciary began with his appointment as Municipal Trial Court Judge in 1989, promotion to Regional Trial Court Judge in 1992, Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals in 2001, and finally, as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

In 2005, he was conferred the Justice George A. Malcolm Award by the Rotary Club of Manila as best performing CA Justice. In 2006, he was recognized by the Presiding Justice of the CA for his outstanding performance in achieving zero backlog status in case disposal. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the CA Journal from 2006 up to his appointment to the Supreme Court. He taught Practice Court I and II at the Ateneo School of Law and lectured in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Seminars.

While in the Supreme Court, Justice Del Castillo also served as the Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and International Law, Chairperson of the Enhanced Justice on Wheels Program for ten years, and Chairperson of the IBP Oversight Committee. He likewise became a member of the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal and the Senate Electoral Tribunal, and was the Chairperson of the 2018 Bar Examinations. At one time, he acted as the working Chairperson of the Supreme Court’s First Division. Upon his retirement from the Supreme Court, he had achieved zero backlog status in his Division cases and zero pending status in his En Banc cases.

On November 6, 2020, Justice Del Castillo was appointed by the Supreme Court En Banc as the Vice-Chancellor of the Philippine Judicial Academy, the educational arm of the Supreme Court that instills upon court personnel, lawyers, judges, and justices ethical integrity and legal expertise.

CHIEF JUSTICE ALEXANDER G. GESMUNDO

Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo was appointed as the 27th Chief Justice of the Philippines on April 5, 2021. He first joined the Supreme Court as its 178th Associate Justice on August 14, 2017. Prior to his appointment to the High Court, he served as Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan for 12 years.

Chief Justice Gesmundo entered government service in August 1985 as Trial Attorney in the Office of the Solicitor General. He was on Seconded Appointment as Commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government from 1998 to 2001. In 2002, he was promoted to Assistant Solicitor General. He continued to serve in the Office of the Solicitor General until his appointment to the Sandiganbayan in 2005.

Prior to joining the government, Chief Justice Gesmundo worked as Research Analyst from 1977 to 1979 with Business Day Corporation, publisher of the business newspaper Business Day and Top 1000 Corporations of the Philippines where his articles were published. In 1979, he worked as Market Research Officer at the Office of the Australian Trade Commissioner, Australian Embassy, Manila, and continued as its Marketing Officer from 1980 to 1985.

Chief Justice Gesmundo is a member of the Corps of Professors of the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA) as Professorial Lecturer in Remedial Law. He also previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the PHILJA’s Department of Remedial Law. The Chief Justice has also taught Remedial Law subjects in various universities and was the Examiner in Remedial Law in the 2009 and 2015 Bar examinations.

Chief Justice Gesmundo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Lyceum of the Philippines University in 1977 and his Bachelor Laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1984. He joined the Philippine Bar in April 1985.

H.E. MIGUEL UTRAY DELGADO

Miguel Utray Delgado (Seville, 23 August 1961) is a Spanish diplomat. He has served as Spain's Ambassador to the Philippines since 2022 with concurrence in Palau, Marshall Islands and Micronesia.

In 1990, he entered the Diplomatic School. His first posting abroad took him to the Spanish embassy in Mexico City (2017) as cultural counsellor and director of the Cultural Centre of Spain in Mexico (CCEMx), an agency of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). He subsequently worked at the Spanish embassies in Tegucigalpa (Honduras, 1994-1996) and Ankara (Turkey, 1996-1998), and was consul general of Spain in Melbourne (Australia, 2006-2008), and in Edinburgh (Scotland, 2012-2017).

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, he has held the positions of head of Area for North Africa in the Directorate General of Foreign Policy for Africa and the Middle East (1990-1993), and deputy director general of Cultural and Scientific Programmes and Agreements (2001-2003).

He has also been: Deputy Assistant Director General of the Office of the President of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (1998-2001); Deputy Director of the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Public Administration and Policies (FIIAPP); and Chief of Protocol for President Rodríguez Zapatero (2008 -2012).

Hon. JUAN ANTONIO GARCIA GALINDO

Juan Antonio García Galindo is the Vice Rector of Social Projection and Communication of the University of Málaga. He holds a doctor's degree in Contemporary History, a professor of Journalism and Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Málaga. He specialized in Theory and History of Journalism, and his work has focused mainly on the history of journalism and communication during the 20th century.

In recent years, his work has focused on the socio-professional history of journalism, intercultural communication, and the changes in journalism and communication in the current context of social, political and technological transformation.

Recently, he has initiated a new line of research in International Current Affairs Analysis, with special attention to the transatlantic space (Europe-Latin America-United States). In this line, he has published "Transatlantic Studies: around an inter-university academic project" (Tampa, USA, 2014).

He is currently President of the Spanish Association of Universities with Degrees in Information and Communication (ATIC), Vice-President of the French Society of Hispanists P.I.L.A.R, and Tutor Professor at the National University of Distance Education. He has also been President of the Spanish Conference of Deans of Faculties of Communication and Information Sciences, President of the Spanish Association of Communication Historians, and Vice-President of Asibercom, the Ibero-American Association of Communication Researchers. He is also a contributor to the newspaper La Opinión de Málaga.

JUSTICE ROSMARI DECLARO CARANDANG

Justice Rosmari Carandang currently serves as Chancellor of the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA), the Philippine Supreme Court's training school for justices, judges, court personnel, court lawyers, and aspirants to judicial posts. She was appointed head of the judicial education arm shortly after she retired as a member of the High Court in January 2022.

Justice Carandang was born in llog, Taal, Batangas. A college scholar for four semesters, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science at the University of the Philippines. Also from the same university, she obtained her Bachelor of Laws graduating Salutatorian of the class and cum laude in 1975. She garnered 9th place in the 1975 Bar examinations.

Prior to joining the Judiciary, Justice Carandang was connected with private financial and government institutions. In December 1993, she was appointed Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Manila, Branch 12, serving also as one of its Vice-Executive Judges. She was appointed Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals in March 2003 serving the Court for over 15 years until her appointment to the Supreme Court of the Philippines on November 26, 2018. Justice Carandang penned the landmark decision on the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 where the court upheld the constitutionality of the said law, emphasizing the importance of combating terrorism while also safeguarding fundamental rights. The decision established a framework for the implementation of the law and the balancing of national security concerns with protection of individual liberties.

JUSTICE ALFREDO BENJAMIN S. CAGUIOA

Justice Alfredo Benjamin Sabater Caguioa is the 174th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

Prior to his appointment on January 22, 2016, Justice Caguioa began his government service in the Executive Department, serving as Secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel (CPLC) to former President Benigno C. Aquino III.

As DOJ Secretary and Attorney-General of the government, Justice Caguioa rendered legal advice and opinions to government agencies and to government-owned and -controlled corporations. At the DOJ, he introduced reforms to streamline the agency’s operations and improve the quality of DOJ services to its stakeholders. He exercised supervision and control over the offices of the DOJ and exercised administrative supervision over DOJ-attached agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Corrections, Public Attorney’s Office, and Office of the Government Corporate Counsel. He also chaired the Inter-Agency Committee on Extra-Legal Killings, Enforced Disappearances, Torture and Other Grave Violations of the Right to Life, Liberty and Security of Persons as well as the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking.

As CPLC, Justice Caguioa rendered legal advice to the President on matters requiring Presidential action. He also advised the President on the legal aspects of national matters of high public interest and other policy concerns. He reviewed draft presidential and executive issuances emanating from the Office of the President and other executive agencies. He also reviewed decisions on administrative and criminal cases appealed to the Office of the President. As well, he reviewed government contracts requiring Presidential approval. He studied and made recommendations on legal issues brought to the attention of the President for the guidance of heads of departments, bureaus and offices in the Executive Branch. As CPLC, he served as a member of the Judicial Search Committee of the Office of the President that screens, evaluates and recommends to the President appointments to the Judiciary, National Labor Relations Commission and the Legal Education Board.

Prior to joining the government, Justice Caguioa had two and a half decades of experience in litigation and arbitration.

Justice Caguioa joined SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (SyCip) in 1986 and was a partner there from 1994 until 2007. In SyCip, he successfully handled and tried a broad range of cases involving expropriation, conflicting mining and real property claims, infrastructure and engineering disputes, product liability and tort, debt recovery, medical malpractice, among others, representing or acting as principal counsel for foreign and local clients and corporations. He is experienced in commercial and arbitration cases with issues of corporate restructuring and rehabilitation, as well as intra-corporate and construction disputes.

In 1987, Justice Caguioa took a one-year leave from SyCip to practice with his father, the late Eduardo P. Caguioa, a retired Justice of the then Intermediate Appellate Court (now Court of Appeals) and a noted author on and professor of Civil Law. While with Justice Eduardo Caguioa, he handled mostly appeals to the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

In February 2007, Justice Caguioa withdrew from SyCip and founded Caguioa & Gatmaytan Law Firm (CaGat). He was at the helm of this full-service firm from its inception until his appointment as CPLC in January 2013. In CaGat, he specialized in civil and commercial litigation before courts and quasi-judicial bodies of all levels, and arbitration before various arbitration bodies. He was cited as a leading Philippine lawyer in the Dispute Resolution field by Chambers & Partners in its 2010 and 2011 Asia-Pacific publications. He actively practiced before the different levels of the prosecutorial system, and had acted as both private prosecutor and defense counsel before the regular courts and the Sandiganbayan.

Justice Caguioa taught Obligations and Contracts, Property, Statutory Construction, and Administrative Law at the Colleges of Law of Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas and San Sebastian College.

Justice Caguioa obtained his degree in Economics (Honors Program) from the College of Arts and Sciences of Ateneo de Manila University in 1981 (Honorable Mention), and graduated with honors from its College of Law in 1985, ranking fifth in his class. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1986 after placing fifteenth in the 1985 Bar examinations. He is currently the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Oversight and a member of the Sub-Committee for the Revision of the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure.

PROFESSOR JOSÉ MANUEL DE TORRES PEREA, PhD.

José Manuel De Torres Perea graduated in 1989 from ICADE, specialty E-1, Madrid, Spain. In 1992/1994, he attended the Doctorate Program at the University of Malaga, where he has been teaching since 1995. He obtained his PhD degree in 1999. Since January 2002 he has been a Full Professor at the University of Malaga. Thanks to the skills acquired during his training period, he has been able to make important contributions in the field of research throughout his career. He has participated in 9 competitive research projects and has to his credit more than 50 scientific publications with three active sexennial research evaluations by ANECA. Another way of disseminating his research activity is the presentation of numerous communications and papers in scientific congresses and conferences, both national and international. He has been visiting professor at Goethe Universität, Frankfort; Regensburg Universität, Regensburg; Northwestern University, Chicago and University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, among others. He is currently the Coordinator of the Erasmus + K2 Capacity Building for Legal and Social Advancement in the Philippines, CALESA. This project is led by the University of Malaga and involves the Universidad Nova de Lisboa, Deusto, University College Dublin, University of the Philippines, University Ateneo de Manila, University San Agustin, Iloilo, Ateneo de Zamboanga University and the Philippine Judicial Academy belonging to the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

BEATRIZ GARCÍA FUEYO

Beatriz García Fueyo is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Private Law at the University of Malaga. She obtained her PhD with a thesis on the Reception of Roman Law in the person of Alonso de San Martín, illegitimate son of the Spanish King Philip IV, for which she was awarded extraordinary distinction. Member of AIDROM, she has published several monographies and more than twenty (20) articles. Some of her latest lines of research deal with the insolvency of creditors and the modes of extinction of civil obligations.









JOSE ANTONIO CASTILLO PARRILLA

Jose Antonio Castillo Parrilla is currently a Posdoc Researcher Ramón y Cajal at the University of Granada, developing a research line called "Legal status of new forms of digital wealth". He holds a European PhD in Digital Law from the University of Bologna (April 2018) and a PhD in Civil Law from the University of Granada (January 2019).

His Doctoral Thesis "Propuesta de construcción jurídica de los bienes digitales o informáticos" has received the Prize for the best Doctoral Thesis in Private Law from the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Granada, as well as the Accésit of the I Eduardo de Hinojosa Prize (May 2018) for the best monograph in legal sciences, published by Dykinson with the title "Bienes digitales. A European necessity".

His Doctoral Thesis "El contrato marco de suministro. Un contrato flexiseguro" has received the Prize for the best Doctoral Thesis in Private Law from the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Granada.

ESTELA BRIÓN BERDOTE

Estela Brión Berdote graduated in Law from the University of the Basque Country in 2015 and completed the master’s degree in Access to the Legal Profession at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) in 2017. Likewise, she obtained the Qualifying Degree for the legal profession from the Ministry of Justice that same year. However, since then, her professional career has been linked to the academic and research field. Since 2017, she has been a professor of Civil Law at the University of Deusto and she belongs to the Department of Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Deusto. Currently, she is teaching the subjects of Obligations and Contracts, Introduction to Private Law, Property Law and Basque Civil Law. Recently, she has deposited her doctoral thesis at the University of Deusto, in which she developed a research in the field of protection of personal data of minors when they handle social networks entitled "The regulatory response to the processing of personal data of minors by social network providers. From the provision of consent to digital oblivion in the era of big data and artificial intelligence".

FEDERICO PÉREZ-PADILLA

Federico Pérez-Padilla is a lawyer specializing in civil and commercial law and is the founding partner of the law firm Welllaw, which specializes in providing legal advice to businesses.

With 20 years of professional experience in the field of commercial law, Federico has held managerial positions at the prestigious international firm KPMG Abogados (2003 to 2008). He also served as the National Head of the Commercial Department at the British firm Irwin Mitchell Abogados (2008-2013). Prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial journey with Welllaw, he was a partner in the commercial department of the Málaga office of the firm Cremades & Calvo Sotelo (2013-2014).

Federico is a member of the following institutions: Málaga Bar Association, No. 6998, Studies Committee of the Málaga Business Circle, Vice President of the Alumni Club of the IE Business School in Málaga, Collaborating Professor in the Civil Department of the University of Law in Málaga.

In his teaching activities, in addition to collaborating with the University of Law in Málaga, he participated as professor at the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) and the Bar of Association of Málaga. Furthermore, he has been a speaker at the "First National Congress of Screenwriters" held in Valencia, the "First International Congress on Internet Law" held in Málaga and has contributed as a lecturer at business schools such as the Instituto de Práctica Empresarial (IPE), the Instituto de Fomento Empresarial (IFE), and the Cátedra de Viabilidad Empresarial.

Finally, he has authored publications including “Resolving Shareholder Disputes through Shareholders' Agreements" (La Opinión de Málaga), "Active Retirement in Board of Directors" (Legal Today), "The Four Pillars of the Proposed Law on Rental Housing Market Flexibility and Promotion" (Legal Today), "GOWEX: Illusion or Reality" (El Confidencial).

VICTOR JOSÉ ANAYA LÓPEZ

Victor José Anaya López graduated from Law at the University of Malaga (UMA). He holds a master’s degree in legal practice at the same University. He is a PhD candidate in Employment and Aviation Law at the University of Pablo de Olavide (Seville).

He is a qualified lawyer in the Malaga Bar Association, currently working as a freelancer. He specializes in Labour, Employment and Social Security Law, as well as in Human Resources within the aviation sector. He has extensive trial experience before labour courts, mediation and arbitration tribunals. He also has experience in collective negotiations with trade unions, within the context of collective labour agreements, legal procedures and the resolution of labour disputes.

He is a collaborating professor in Employment, Aviation and Civil Law at different Spanish Universities, such as ICADE, UNIA and UMA.

IGNACIO GARCÍA TABOADA

Ignacio García Taboada obtained his degree in Law from the University of Malaga (years 2007 to 2012). He is a member of the Malaga Bar Association with the number 9.110 since 2014. He was a lawyer in the law firm González - Nogueira, specialists in civil and commercial law, defending the interests of Banco Santander, S.A., Banco Mare Nostrum, S.A., Altamira Asset Management, S.A., as well as Sociedad de Gestión de Activos Procedentes de la Reestructuración Bancaria (SAREB) and other entities (years 2015 to 2018). Since the beginning of 2018 and up to the present, he is lawyer in the GarcíaTaboada office, and subscribed to the public defender's office, specialising in civil and commercial law.

He is a substitute interim professor, in the category of associate professor, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Malaga, in the department of Roman law, from November 2018 until September 2021 and an honorary collaborator in the department of Roman law at the University of Malaga. He is also an interim substitute lecturer, in the category of associate lecturer, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Malaga, in the department of Roman law, during the academic year 2022 - 2023.

JESÚS MARTÍN FUSTER

Jesús Martín Fuster holds a Law Degree, Master in Advocacy (with an award for the best record of the promotion), and an international PhD in the Program of Legal and Social Sciences by the UMA, with the qualification of Outstanding Cum-laude. He also holds the title of University Expert in Spanish Law taught in English (UNIA).

This legal training is complemented with experience in professional practice, where he has worked as a legal advisor and lawyer both as a freelance and as an employee. He is currently working as a professor at the University of Malaga, in the area of Civil Law. He has made several scientific publications on topics related to civil law, having also participated in national and international conferences.





EUGENIO OLMEDO-PERALTA

Eugenio Olmedo Peralta is a Commercial Law Senior Lecturer at the University of Málaga. His research activity covers different fields of private and public law, especially relating to competition law and policy, digital markets, data and new technologies, regulated sectors -mainly transports and energy- and liberalization processes, Intellectual Property, commercial contracts and corporate law. His research has a strong international background, since he has worked in different research institutions in Spain, Italy and Germany. Currently, he is the principal investigator of a Spanish National R&D Project covering the legal framework to promote dynamic competition in digital markets and the innovation by means of Artificial Intelligence (CODIG-IA), so as another R&D Project on the protection of consumers and small businesses in digital markets: anticompetitive and unfair practices and exploitation of economic dependence (CoMeDi). Since May 2023 he is also the President of the Spanish Academic Network for Competition Law.

He is the author of four books and over seventy book chapters and articles published in national and international scientific journals. Some of his works have been awarded different recognitions such as the Best Monograph on Transports, best paper awards. He holds a five-year degree in Law (2007) and a two-year LL.M. in Companies Legal Consultancy by the University of Málaga. He holds the Andalusian regional award to the best academic performance, so as the National Award Young Lawyers (2008). He obtained his PhD on Company Law and Financial Markets at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2013, where he defended his doctoral dissertation on the Accounting duties and liabilities in the corporate governance of capital companies, as a scholar of the Collegio di Spagna in Bologna. Then, he completed his postdoc building at the Max-Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich (2013-2014 and 2015). Currently, he completes his building with studies in Economics.

He is Deputy Vice-president for Research and Teaching Staff Policy at the University of Málaga since 2020, where he has previously been Deputy Vice-president for Degree Studies (2017-2020) and Academic Secretary of the Faculty of Law (2016-2017).

IRENE SÁNCHEZ FRÍAS

Irene Sánchez Frías is a PhD candidate and predoctoral researcher at the Department of Commercial Law in the University of Málaga. She is a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws graduate from the University of Málaga. During this period, she was granted two research scholarships due to her academic achievements. She is also a graduate of the Advanced Master in IntellectualProperty and ICT Law in the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), where she graduated cum laude.

Regarding prizes, she has won the Manuel Olivencia Scholarship, granted by the Cuatrecasas Foundation to only one law student for completing studies abroad, and the Prize `Chair of Commerce and Digital Transformation´, for the best Master thesis in Law.

Irene´s main areas of specialization are Unfair Competition, Data Protection, Advertising Law, E-commerce, Consumer law, and Intellectual Property. She has participated as a speaker in national and international conferences about Private Law and has published about Business Law in reputed academic journalsand editorials.

LUCILA ALMEIDA

Professor Dr. Lucila de Almeida is the Abreu Chair of ESG Impact and Director of the NOVA Green Lab at NOVA School of Law. She is also a Full Professor under a part-time regime at the European University Institute (EUI) and member of the Coordination Committee at the Florence School of Regulation, Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies. She holds a PhD in European Law from the EUI. Lucila has several publications in the field of energy and climate law, and worked on various projects as PI, researcher or consultant funded by the International Energy Agency (2019-2025), Berlin Economics (2020), the Academy of Finland (2017-2018), European Research Council (2013-2016), and Inter-American Development Bank (2011).





AGUSTÍN VIGURÍ PEREA

Agustín Vigurí Perea is holder of Doctor Honoris Causa, Latin America & the Caribbean (UNESCO). He is a Juris Doctor (foreign attorneys), Pittsburgh, USA. He is also a Director of the International división (Cuatrecasas Top Law Firm), Bilbao and author of 13 books, with over 100 chapters and articles. He is a director of 12 research projects and director of 3 doctoral thesis and 8 masters. He is a visiting professor of different law schools such as Harvard, Berkeley, Austin, and Tulane. He is also a Law Professor at University of San Agustin, Iloilo PH.






FABRIZIO ESPOSITO

Fabrizio Esposito is an Assistant Professor in Private Law at the NOVA School of Law, where he coordinates with Prof. Athina Sachoulidou the Master in Law – Specialization in Business Law and Technology and the Data-Driven Law Knowledge Centre with Prof. Margarida Lima Rego.

His research focuses on the relationship between private law, economic law, EU law, economics and legal theory. He is particularly interested in the intersect between consumer law, data protection, competition law, and sector specific legislation in addressing the challenges raised by technological developments in the attention economy. He is currently working on price personalization, and the use of theories of harm in consumer law with a special attention to consumer data collecion. Fabrizio is about to publish a monograph showing how to change the mainstream research paradigm at the intersect between law and economics by taking the consumer interest as core value in market regulation.

Fabrizio publishes regularly in international journals such as: Computer Law & Security Review, the European Review of Contract Law, the Journal of Consumer Policy, the European Journal of Risk Regulation, the European Competition Journal. He has co-edited two volumes and one is in press and has published his first monograph in 2022: The Consumer Welfare Hypothesis in Law and Economics (Edward Elgar).

BRUNO RODRÍGUEZ-ROSADO

Bruno Rodríguez-Rosado, born in Valencia in 1971, studied law and did his PhD in the same subject at the University of Navarra (Spain). On both occasion, he was awarded with the Faculty Price. After completing further studies in Germany, he got a second doctorate in law from the University of Cologne. Since 2002, he has been a lecturer in civil law at the University of Malaga, where he has been vice-dean of the Faculty.







MIRIAM ANDERSON

Dr. Miriam Anderson is a professor (Senior Lecturer) of Civil Law and Comparative Law at the University of Barcelona (since 2008). Her main areas of research, teaching and transfer of knowledge are housing and mortgages, contract law, consumer protection, succession and economic aspects of family law. She is responsible for founding and currently co-directs the first legal clinic in Spain accessible to the general public, which focuses on mortgage and housing problems. It also provides training and legal advice in this field to the Catalan Government, local municipalities and third sector entities. M. Anderson has participated in the drafting of bills on service contracts and consumer protection regarding housing and mortgage foreclosure for the Catalan Government. Since 2018, she is a member of the Catalan Codification Commission. She contributes to the Common Core of European Law Project led by the Trento University (Ugo Mattei and Mauro Bussani) and has been a researcher for the Jean Monnet Chair on European Private Law at her University (2015-2018 and 2019-2022, E. Arroyo). Her teaching and research activities have taken place, as well as in Spain, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, The Netherlands and the United States. Together with E. Arroyo, she promoted and edited the 2017 book The Impact of the Mortgage Credit Directive in Europe. Contrasting Views from Member States (Europa Law Publishing) and in 2020 and 2022 they provided academic support to Risk & Policy Analysts LTD on the Evaluation of the Mortgage Credit Directive (COM (2021) 229 final, Brussels, 11.05.2021) and to and to ICF on the Impact Assessment of the review of said Directive for DG FISMA (EU) (forthcoming). Currently, she is co-IP for the research project “Mortgage Credit under Review: Towards a Sustainable, Inclusive and Digital European Market”, PID2021-127197NB-I00, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/50110001103, and ERDF, ‘A Way of Making Europe’. JOSÉ MANUEL MARTÍN FUSTER

José Manuel Martín Fuster holds a PhD in Law, Degree in Law, master’s in law, International Doctorate in the Program of Legal and Social Sciences of the UMA, and a Professor of Civil Law, University of Malaga. He has also obtained the title of University Expert in Spanish Law taught in English, from the International University of Andalusia. In terms of teaching experience, he has taught classes in both official degrees and master's degrees. In addition, he is the author of various didactic materials, articles and book chapters, addressing the main issues of civil law. Along with all this, can be highlighted the participation in national and international scientific conferences, and the participation in various research projects related to private law.
